The actress recently disclosed that she just joined the crime drama’s cast four days before the start of filming.

Anjali Anand plays one of five middle-class women who own a tiffin service company in Dabba Cartel, which also stars Shabana Azmi, Jyotika, Shalini Pandey, and Nimisha Sajayan in the key roles. When they get involved with a drug gang, their lives take a surprising turn. Shibani Akhtar, Gaurav Kapoor, Vishnu Menon, and Akanksha Seda are the show’s creators.

In an interview with Screen, Anjali discussed how she was cast in Dabba Cartel, saying, “It’s a very funny story about how I got Dabba Cartel.” Four days before the start of filming, I was cast in the show. Everything, even the actors, was prepared.

The producers were pleased by Anjali’s performance in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani, which led to her being cast in Dabba Cartel. “Shibani felt that she had made a mistake when she saw Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani,” the actress said. She requested that I portray Shahida. She told everyone, but no one paid attention. She forced the casting director to contact me in secret. I suffered a flat tire while traveling to Mumbai. Anjali said that she auditioned for Dabba Cartel around one in the morning. “Shibani conducted my covert audition around one in the morning. She just urged everyone to have faith in her. I hadn’t read any sequences from the fifth episode, which was where the reading came from. Everyone stared at me as soon as I began reading and thought that Shibani was correct and that I was the proper decision.
