Chennai In a kind gesture, Malayalam actor Mammootty wished fellow superstar Mohanlal, director Prithviraj Sukumaran, and the whole cast and crew of their next film, L2: Empuraan, well. He expressed his hope that the film will transcend international borders and make Malayalam cinema proud.

“Best wishes to the entire cast and crew of #Empuraan for a historic victory!” said Mammootty on Wednesday on his X timeline. Mammootty is close to Mohanlal, the other major actor in the Malayalam cinema industry. I hope it transcends international borders and brings pride to the Malayalam industry as a whole. I’m cheering you on, Lal and Prithvi.

It is well known that Mammootty and Mohanlal, two Malayalam film stars, have a close connection. It was only recently revealed that Mohanlal had prayed for Mammootty’s well-being and speedy recovery in Sabarimala.

It was Mammotty’s Wednesday greetings to the Empuraan crew that made fans and movie enthusiasts grin in addition to the Empuraan unit members.

“Nothing..absolutely nothing more special than wishes from the Patriarch of Malayalam cinema!” commented director Prithviraj in response to Mammootty’s tweet. Mamukka, thank you!

L2: Empuraan (L2E), starring Mohanlal, is being co-produced by Sri Gokulam Movies, Lyca Productions, and Antony Perumbavoor. Deepak Dev composed the soundtrack for the movie, while Murali Gopy wrote the script. Sujith Vaassudev did the film’s cinematography, while Akhilesh Mohan did the editing.

In only eight days, “Lucifer,” the first installment of the series that debuted in 2019 and included actor Prithviraj Sukumaran as director, became a box office success. It became the highest-grossing Malayalam movie ever, earning nearly Rs 200 crore.

It goes without saying that anticipation for the sequel, which is set to premiere on March 27 of this year, has skyrocketed.
