Rajma Method of preparation:


Material:



  • Rajma (kidney beans) – 1 cup

  • Water – to boil

  • Oil – 2 table spoon

  • Onion – 1, finely chopped

  • Tomato – 2, Puree or Finely chopped

  • Ginger-Garlic Paste-1 Table Spoon

  • Green chili – 2, finely chopped

  • Cumin – 1 tsp

  • Red chili powder – 1 tsp

  • Coriander powder – 1 table spoon

  • Turmeric Powder – ½ tsp

  • Garam Masala – 1 tsp

  • salt to taste

  • Green coriander – for decoration

Method of making Rajma:



  1. First of all, wash Rajma thoroughly and soak it in water overnight. The next morning, put them in the pressure cooker to boil.

  2. Put Rajma in the cooker and add 4-5 cups of water. Now add salt and boil the rajma up to 4-5 whistles. Then turn off the gas and wait for the pressure to end for 10-15 minutes.

  3. Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let it crackle. Then add finely chopped onion and fry till it becomes golden.

  4. Now add ginger-garlic paste and green chili and fry for some time.

  5. Add tomatoes and cook them well, until they start leaving soft and oil.

  6. Now add turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder and fry the spices well.

  7. Add boiled rajma and mix well. Then add 1-2 cups of water and let it cook on low flame for 15-20 minutes, so that the spices and Rajma are mixed well.

  8. Then, add garam masala and mix and cook for 5 more minutes.

  9. If you want, you can decorate by adding green coriander.


Now, hot hot Rajma Is ready! Serve it with rice, paratha or rotis and taste.
