Recipe for Onion Kachori:
Material:
- Flour – 2 cups
- Oil – 2 tbsp (to add to the dough)
- salt to taste
- Water – to knead the dough
- Onion – 2 medium sized (finely chopped)
- Green chilli – 1 (finely chopped)
- Ginger – 1 inch (grated)
- Cumin – 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder – 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder – 1/4 teaspoon
- Red chilli powder – 1 teaspoon
- Dry mango powder – 1/2 teaspoon
- Oil – for frying kachoris
Method:
knead the dough:
- First of all, add flour, salt, and 2 tbsp oil in a vessel and mix well.
- Now slowly add water and knead the dough. The dough should be kept a little hard so that the kachoris become crispy.
- Cover the dough with a cloth and keep it aside for 15-20 minutes.
Preparing the Stuffing:
- Heat some oil in a pan, then add cumin seeds.
- After the cumin seeds crackle, add chopped onion and fry. Fry the onion until it turns golden brown.
- Now add green chilli, ginger, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, dry mango powder and salt and mix well.
- Keep the mixture aside to cool.
making kachoris:
- Make small balls of dough and roll them with a rolling pin. While rolling, keep in mind that the dough should not be too thin.
- Put the prepared onion mixture in the middle and seal the corners of the dough.
- Now press it into a round shape and give it the shape of Kachori.
Fried Kachoris:
- Heat oil in a pan and fry the kachoris on medium flame.
- Fry the kachoris until they become golden and crisp.
- Remove from oil and place on kitchen towel to absorb excess oil.
