Manas Shah, who has been a part of shows Humari Devrani, Sankat Mochan Mahabali Hanuman, and Yeh Hai Chahatein and has recently come on board the show Tulsi - Hamari Badi Sayani , turned a year older on January 11.
He loves a working birthday and is looking forward to celebrating his big day with the cast and crew of his new show that he calls his extended family. He said, “I love working on my birthday and celebrating it on set. But if I’m not working on any show, I prefer going straight to my parents. We celebrate both their parenthood and my birthday together. However, if I have the chance, I definitely enjoy celebrating my birthday on set because it feels like an extended family. We spend 12-14 hours daily working together, which creates a strong connection. So, if I’m not with my real family, I celebrate my birthday with my on-set family.”
“This year, I’ll be celebrating with them as well. I recently joined Tulsi Humari Badi Sayani, and even though it’s only been 3-4 days since I joined the show, I’ve already developed a great bond with everyone. They’ve been very loving and supportive, and they also want me to celebrate my birthday with them. I’ll be happy to celebrate my special day with my new on-set family. Though he shared that he treats his birthday like any other day, he makes sure that he calls up his parents and takes their blessing.
He added, “For me, ‘Mere Mummy Papa mere bhagwan hai’ (my parents are my god), and their blessings are very important—not just on my birthday but every single day. I prefer to celebrate—keeping it simple and meaningful.” He receives a ton of wishes and blessings on his birthday but confessed that they sometimes make him uncomfortable. He said, “On my birthday, I get so many calls because I make it a point to wish everyone else on their birthdays throughout the year. Sometimes, people even call me under pressure just to prove they haven’t forgotten my birthday.”
“To be honest, I don’t really like feeling special or being treated in a way that makes me feel overly important. It makes me a little uncomfortable. So, my birthday usually goes by talking to the people who wish me well, spending time with those who meet me, and celebrating with them. That’s how my entire day gets spent, and I’m happy with that simplicity,” he added. As for his birthday wish, Manas wants a happy, satisfied, and good, healthy, long life for his parents. He added, “Another wish I have, which may sound random, is for everyone I care about to never have to deal with hospitals, courts, or police stations. These places can make anyone feel helpless, no matter how powerful or influential they are.” He wants to be capable enough to help his loved ones, especially those who may be going through tough times.
