Wellington [New Zealand], December 4: In preparation for the series’ second Test match against New Zealand in Wellington, England revealed an unaltered starting eleven on Wednesday.

England took a 1-0 lead in the Test series against the Kiwis after winning by eight wickets earlier in the first Test in Christchurch.

The starting eleven for the second Test match has also been confirmed by Jacob Bethell, who made his Test debut in the Christchurch Test. They took the lead in the series thanks to Bethell’s undefeated fifty in the second inning of the preceding game.

The second Test match will begin on December 6 and Ben Stokes will captain the Three Lions.

In the first Test match, England defeated New Zealand by eight wickets at Hagley Oval in Christchurch thanks to Jacob Bethell’s maiden fifty and Brydon Carse’s outstanding ball-handling.

At Hagley Oval, New Zealand had a four-run advantage over England at the beginning of Day 04 at 155/6. Overnight, the Kiwis increased their total by 99 runs. Nathan Smith (21) and other tailenders provided assistance to Daryl Mitchell (84) during his outstanding batting outburst.

However, Brydon Carse made sure that England needed to chase only 104 to win the Christchurch Test by taking three of the last four wickets and amassing career-best figures of 6/42.

On the fourth day at Hagley Oval, New Zealand bowlers failed to provide any danger, thus the Three Lions had little trouble chasing. Leading the English batting order during the chase, Jacob Bethell struck a brilliant unbeaten fifty off only 37 balls in his debut.

Ben Duckett, Jacob Bethell, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ollie Pope (WK), Ben Stokes (C), Chris Woakes, Gus Atkinson, Brydon Carse, Shoaib Bashir, and Zak Crawley make up England’s playing eleven.
