A Mohammedan Sporting fan was spotted wielding his slipper during the game against Kerala Blasters in Kolkata on October 20. 

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) and ISL served a notice, potentially imposing a Rs 1 lakh fine on Mohammedan Sporting Club for the fan violence during the club’s 2-1 defeat to Kerala Blasters in an Indian Super League (ISL) game last week at the�Kishore Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata.�

The club could be fined Rs 1 lakh, the minimum penalty for fan misconduct, as the club's fans threw bottles, stones, projectiles, and even wooden logs onto the field.�

The club has been given four days to respond to the notice.�While Rs 1 lakh is the minimum fine for such an offence, the AIFF and ISL have left the door open for increased sanctions if such incidents happen again or if more evidence of aggravated misconduct is revealed.

The match was temporarily paused as safety concerns arose for both players and fans.

Kerala Blasters issued a statement after the match, highlighting the dangerous behaviour of the home crowd.�

Fans were seen climbing the fence separating the stands from the pitch and travelling Kerala Blasters supporters shared photos and videos on social media showing projectiles being thrown at them in the away stand.�

The club condemned the incidents, calling for stronger action against such disruptive behaviour.

Mohammedan Sporting General Secretary Bilal Ahmed Khan termed the incident "very unfortunate". "Bottles filled with urine were thrown," he said. "I urge every Mohammedan Sporting fan club to step up and educate fans about the penalties they could face for such behaviour. Fans should enjoy the game and avoid unnecessary excitement. I am genuinely ashamed of the incident,” Khan added.�

Mohammedan Sporting has yet to release a formal response to the notice.

The club is expected to review stadium security measures and fan control protocols to ensure player and spectator safety is maintained at all future matches.
