Latest News :- The Supreme Court has ordered the transfer of the alleged use of animal fat in Tirupati Laddu to the Special Investigation Committee constituted by the Andhra Pradesh government. When Jagan Mohan Reddy was the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, various petitions were filed in the Supreme Court alleging that adulterated ghee containing animal fat and fish oil was used to prepare Tirupati Laddu. Judge P.R. Kawai, K.V. Vishwanathan's bench is investigating.

The case was heard today (October 4). At that time, the Supreme Court had ordered to change the special investigation committee constituted by the Andhra Pradesh government regarding this case. The Supreme Court announced that the new Special Investigation Team will consist of 2 CBI officers, 2 Andhra Pradesh Police officers and 1 representative of the Food Safety and Standards Commission of India and ordered that the investigation team will be supervised by the CBI Director.

The petitioners requested that the investigation committee be brought under the supervision of the Supreme Court. At that time the judges had said that we cannot allow the court to be used as a 'ground of politics' and we do not want it to become a political drama.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, who was present in today's hearing, said, “The alleged use of adulterated ghee to prepare lattu is true, but it cannot be accepted. Devotees of Tirupati Seven Hills are spread all over the world. This also includes food security. There is no problem in reappointment of the Special Investigation Committee. They are brilliant,” he said.
