“Terrorist” strikes that caused several deaths in Lebanon were denounced by the Palestinian leadership.

The president declared Palestine’s support for the Lebanese government and people in their fight against “terrorism” that targets defenseless civilians. It expressed sympathy to the relatives of the deceased and wished the wounded a quick recovery, according to Xinhua news agency, which quotes Palestinian state media WAFA.

The presidency emphasized its commitment to Lebanon’s security, stability, and sovereignty while warning of the serious escalation that “violates” Lebanese sovereignty and threatens global peace and security. It also called on the international community to act quickly to stop further escalation in the region.

According to the Lebanese Health Ministry, wireless communication device explosions occurred across Lebanon on Wednesday, resulting in up to 450 injuries and 14 fatalities.

The event came after an alleged strike on Tuesday by the Israeli military on pagers used by Hezbollah members, which left some 2,800 people injured and 12 people dead, including two children.
