120 electric buses will be purchased by the Uttar Pradesh government and used in the cities of Lucknow, Aligarh, Moradabad, Ayodhya, and Gorakhpur.
The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) is fast adding 120 electric buses (in addition to 100 buses) to its fleet, under the directions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh.
The five cities of Aligarh, Moradabad, Lucknow, Ayodhya, and Gorakhpur will be served by these buses. These electric buses will have cutting-edge technology and contemporary amenities. The areas of Moradabad and Aligarh will each get thirty electric buses, while the cities of Gorakhpur, Ayodhya, and Lucknow will each have twenty electric buses in service.
The Aligarh region will see the operation of ten electric buses on the Aligarh-Noida via Jewar route, four on the Aligarh-Ballabgarh-Faridabad route, four on the Aligarh-Mathura route, eight on the Aligarh-Kaushambi via Khurja route, and four on the Aligarh-Dibai-Anupshahr-Sambhal-Moradabad route, according to Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh.
In the same way, thirty electric buses will run in the Moradabad area. Ten of these buses will travel the following routes: Moradabad-Kaushambi; Moradabad-Meerut; Moradabad-Najibabad Kotdwar; two routes through Kathghar; Kathghar-Bareilly; four routes through Kathghar-Haldwani; two routes through Kathghar-Aligarh; and two routes through Kathghar-Ramnagar.
Twenty electric buses will run on the New Barabanki Station-Awadh Bus Station route in the Lucknow area. In the same way, there will be four buses operating in the Ayodhya area on the routes to Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, and Gonda, six buses on the Ayodhya-Sultanpur-Varanasi, and six buses on the Ayodhya-Prayagraj route. In the Ayodhya area, there will be twenty electric buses in operation.
There will be twenty electric buses in service in the Gorakhpur area. The routes Gorakhpur-Azamgarh-Varanasi, Gorakhpur-Ghazipur-Varanasi, four Gorakhpur-Ayodhya, four Gorakhpur-Sonauli, two Gorakhpur-Maharajganj-Thuthibari, one each for Gorakhpur-Siddharthnagar and Gorakhpur-Padrauna, and two for Gorakhpur-Tamkuhi will all be serviced by three buses.
For these buses, the bidding procedure will shortly begin.
