Some farmers of Karwadi-Handewadi in Kopargaon taluka went to remove electric motor and pipe to get water from Godavari. At this time, three were drowned in Godavari. Fortunately, the woman who was present there saved both of them by throwing her saree.

But one of them, Santosh Bhimashankar Tangtode, drowned in Godavari river on Thursday (25th). Revenue administration and villagers were looking for him. After 26 hours of search operation, his body was recovered from the water around 2.30 pm on Friday (26th).

Due to the rains in Nashik district, water was released from the Nandur-Madhyameshwar dam into the Godavari river basin. Meanwhile, farmers Santosh Bhimashankar Tangtode (age 25), Amol Tangtode (age 30), Pradeep Tangtode (age 28) and Narayan Tangtode (age 52) from Karwadi-Handewadi in Kopargaon taluka went to remove the electric motor and pipe on Thursday morning.

Santosh Tangtode landed in Godavari. Santhosh drowned as the flow of water was not predicted. The search operation continued from Thursday morning till evening. It stopped when it got dark. The next day, Friday, the search operation started again. The body was found around 2.30 pm.

Body floated after 26 hours

On Friday morning, a search operation was started with the help of a boat and everyone was searching. Meanwhile, around 26 hours later in the afternoon, some people saw the body floating.

He informed Tehsildar Bhosale about this. After that, the rescue team of Kopargaon Municipal Council came to Ghana and took out Santosh’s body by boat.
