Vegetarian Diet: Vegetarians are more likely to suffer from vitamin B12 deficiency because vitamin B12 is mainly found in meat, fish, eggs and dairy products.


Problems to the digestive system: The absorption of vitamin B12 is reduced in people suffering from diseases like celiac disease, Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis i.e. ulcers in the intestine.


Drug intake: Certain medications, such as antacids and metformin, can interfere with the absorption of vitamin B12.
