Amer Fort is located at a distance of 11 km from the Pink City Jaipur. Amer Fort, one of the famous forts of Rajasthan, has been included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Known as Amber and Amber Fort, this fort is situated on high hills and is one of the famous tourist places in Jaipur. Built with a mixture of Rajputana and Mughal styles, Amer Fort is famous for its magnificent artistic style.



The lustre of red sandstone and white marble stones, paintings, carvings, precious stones and mirror decorations on the inner walls of the fort bear testimony to the royal history of this fort. The view of the Maota Lake along with the long ramparts, many gates, stone paved paths in front of the Amer Fort adds to the beauty of this place. The Diwan-e-Aam, Ganesh Pol, Sukh Niwas, Maota Lake and Zenana Room are worth seeing in the Amer Fort.

History of Amer Palace in Hindi The construction of Amer Fort was started in 1592 by Kachwaha ruler Raja Man Singh I. The construction of the fort was completed during the reign of Mirza Raja Jai ​​Singh, who also built a garden in the fort complex. Changes were made to this Amer Fort during the reign of different kings. Finally, the capital of the Kachwaha Empire was shifted to Jaipur during the reign of King Sawai Jai Singh II.


The outer walls and structures of the Amer Fort were crumbling and its historical material and seals were badly damaged, so the original plaster of the fort was replaced. The outer walls of this fort were constructed of red sandstone but were painted white, making it look like white marble.

The fort is open for tourists from 8 am to 6 pm. The entry fee to the fort is Rs 200 for foreign tourists and Rs 25 for Indian tourists. Tourists can also enjoy elephant rides here.
