Ranchi: Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta has been in controversy for various reasons. The latest controversy has arisen regarding his residence. Banna Gupta liked the bungalow earmarked for the Chief Secretary located at Booti Road, which was vacant after the retirement of former Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh. On Saturday, the minister's staff cleaned this residence, after which they put up the minister's board outside the residence and locked it. However, the Building Construction Department has not yet allotted this residence to him.

The building construction department has allotted one of the houses earmarked for ministers to the minister Banna Gupta in which the minister currently lives. But this house is smaller than the house earmarked for the chief secretary, the minister needs a bigger house for himself. However, the minister said regarding his house that he is trying to get a new house allotted, and has talked to the officials of the building construction department in this regard.


Rules are fixed for housing allocation in the state


Provision has been made in the Building Construction Department for the allocation of State Government residences. There is a rule to allocate residences to the Chief Minister, Ministers, MLAs and other officials according to their seniority. However, the State Governments have been accused of violating the said provision. But till now, the Building Construction Department in the State has not allocated more than one residence to any Minister, MLA or official.
