Rumoured James Bond star Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been snapped shooting his next film, 28 Years Later.

The lead of Sony's upcoming Marvel blockbuster Kraven the Hunter is already back in action filming the zombie flick, a sequel to Danny Boyle's cult horror film 28 Days Later.

Danny is returning to the director's chair for the highly anticipated flick, which began shooting in Northumberland on May 7.

Star of the original Cillian Murphy will be reprising his role alongside a new cast that also features Jodie Comer, Ralph Fiennes and Jack O'Connell.

33-year-old star Aaron is playing a still undisclosed role but was recently snapped with long, shaggy hair and a thick beard for the shoot.

In photos obtained by Express Online, the actor wore a dark pink shirt with sleeves rolled up to show off his muscular forearms.

He completed the simple post-apocalyptic look with black trousers and matching military-style boots.

One of the snaps saw the actor leaping into a sprint with a cameraman crouching behind him for one of the film's action sequences.

In other shots, Aaron either jogged or walked casually in between takes with a slightly tired smile on his face.

These latest photos of the star come as The Fall Guy actor remains one of the bookies' top choices to replace Daniel Craig as James Bond.

However, he faces stiff competition from one of his upcoming co-stars, Theo James.

The two Bond frontrunners are confirmed to star in the upcoming heist thriller Fuze, directed by Hell or High Water's David Mackenzie.

According to a synopsis, the film "opens on the discovery of an unexploded World War II bomb in a London construction site sparking a mass evacuation, the perfect cover for a heist".

Shooting is set to begin in July, while 28 Years Later is set for a June 2025 release date.
