Washington, April 26. The firing incident came to light during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner held at the Washington Hilton Hotel. US President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump and other American officials were present during the incident. However, everyone has been evacuated safely. American media quoted sources as saying that law enforcement officials have identified a suspected gunman. According to information shared by American media CNN, officials have identified the suspected gunman as a 30-year-old man from California.

A US Secret Service officer was shot at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday night, three people said, according to CNN. The bullet hit the officer’s protective gear and he was taken to a local hospital. Sources say the officer is expected to survive. President Trump has also reiterated the same thing. Erin Thielman, who attended the event, told CNN that after she saw a man fall to the ground, security shot him. The magazine was hanging on his shoulder and he fell along with the rifle. They heard three shots fired at the man. It is not clear whether the man fired any shots or not.

Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the case. CNN reported on a video from the scene of the incident, in which President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are seen talking to American mentalist Oz Perlman shortly before the shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner at the Washington Hilton.

In the video, when Perlman is talking to Trump, people suddenly become alarmed when they hear a loud noise. Before First Lady Melania could understand anything, security covered President Trump and others and took her off the stage. In another video, people hide under a table.
