New Delhi: A young batsman of Delhi Capitals was injured during a practice session at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The incident took place when 18-year-old player Sahil Parakh was struck on the face by a ball while batting in the nets.


According to reports, the impact was severe and the player started bleeding immediately. Team doctors rushed to examine him on the field. He was later taken away in an ambulance for further treatment.


Parakh was placed on a stretcher and shifted to a nearby medical facility in Delhi. The franchise has not yet released an official statement on the extent of his injuries, but early reports suggest that he has undergone several diagnostic scans.


The left-handed opening batsman was bought by Delhi Capitals for ₹30 lakh in the recent auction. He was training with the team ahead of their match against Punjab Kings scheduled for Saturday afternoon.



Several team members and support staff were seen worried as the player was taken away in the ambulance.
