Match 34 of IPL 2026 should have been a contest but for RCB it turned into a walk in the park. They won by five wickets in hand and seven balls to spare to jump to 2nd spot on the points table. The man who was instrumental in their win was none other than veteran Virat Kohli.

Virat Kohli Creates History Twice

Kohli entered the history books not once but twice during his marathon knock. In what was RCB’s last home game, Kohli slammed 81 from 44. His innings contained eight fours and four sixes. He really did deserve a 100 but a match-winning 81 will feel just as good.

1st to Hit 300 Sixes for One IPL Team

When Kohli hit the 1st of his four sixes, he became the 1st player in IPL history to smash 300 sixes for a single team. Kohli has only played for RCB so this is a major milestone. Overall, he is 3rd on the list behind Rohit Sharma in 2nd and Chris Gayle topping the list. He has 303 big hits to his name.

1st to Hit 800 IPL Fours

Kohli’s 1st four took him to 800 fours in the IPL. No player has broken this barrier before. The man now has 807 fours to his name. Another feather in the cap of the ‘King’ who can do no wrong. An IPL legend to the core.

Major Milestone Loading for Virat Kohli

Kohli fell 11 runs shy of the 9000-mark. When he does reach it, hopefully in the very next game, the 37-year-old will be the 1st IPL batter to breach that feat. At the moment, he is also the highest run-getter in this edition with a tally of 328 in seven innings at an average of 54.67 and strike rate of 163.18.

Virat Kohli’s IPL Records

Kohli had the moment holds the IPL records for most runs, runs for a team, games for a team, runs by a captain, catches, seasons (shared with Rohit Sharma), seasons for a team, 100s, 50s, 50+ scores, sixes for a team, fours for a team and fours. No wonder he is an IPL legend and the man is far from done.
