Lots of people enjoy travelling, and some want to see as many places as possible. If you're among the latter, there is one spot which is the perfect cheat code.
This spot allows you to see four countries at once - without taking a step. The Kazungula Quadripoint lies on the Zambezi River. It is a rare geographical phenomenon where four countries lie within just a few hundred metres of each other. These four countries are Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
It might not be a perfect four corners crossing but they are close enough that tourists can stand on one country and step into another while also seeing two more countries across the river.
The centre of this experience is the Kazungula Bridge, a 923-metre structure connecting Zambia and Botswana across the Zambezi River.
The bridge was carefully engineered to respect complex border boundaries, meaning it only directly links two countries, but crucially, it sits within touching distance of Namibia and Zimbabwe.
The result is that you can stand on the bridge linking the two, whilst looking at Zimbabwe just metres away, and also seeing Namibia just across the river - truly an incredible experience.
Before the bridge was constructed, the crossing between Zambia and Botswana relied on a ferry service that was prone to delays, which limited the movement between countries.
Closer to home there is another opportunity to see multiple countries from one view point - although you won't be as close as the Kanzungula Bridge gets you.
In the Swiss Alps there is a mountain known as Hoher Kasten, which on a clear day offers incredible panoramic views over the alps of Germany, Austria, Italy and France. To get this amazing view, you don't even need to hike to the top of the mountain range. Instead, a cable car can carry you up from the town of Brülisau, and up the side of the range in just eight minutes.
