New Delhi: Veteran actor-comedian Dinesh Hingoo is under financial stress, and hence, he continues to work even at the age of 86. According to Money Control, the actor needs money to go to the doctor. In a conversation, he shared that “directors and artists don’t get so much money”.
Phir Hera Pheri actor Dinesh Hingoo was quoted as saying, “I am 86 years old. I go out sometimes to work. I fell down recently and got injured. It is fine now, but I need money to go to the doctor. Doctor kabhi 5000 Rs mangte hai kabhi Rs 6000. Directors and artists don’t get so much money. I worked with black and white films. I have worked in Gujarati and Rajasthani movies.”
Actor Dinesh Hingoo began his acting career in theatre and stage performances. He made his Bollywood debut with Taqdeer (1967) and gained fame in the 1980s-2000s as a comic supporting actor. He has worked in over 300 movies. Some of his notable works are in movies such as Kora Kagaz (1974), Qurbani (1980), Namak Halaal (1982), and Sharaabi (1984).
His popularity peaked in the 1990s with movies including Shah Rukh Khan’s Baazigar (1993), Salman Khan’s Hum Aapke Hain Koun…! (1994), Karan Arjun (1995), Coolie No. 1 (1995), Judaai (1997), Baadshah (1999). He is also known for his iconic role in Hera Pheri (2000). He has also been a part of Humraaz, No Entry, and Phir Hera Pheri.
Though, the actor has never played a lead role, his impeccable comic timings and acting skills became a comic staple in Bollywood. The actor is known for his unforgettable performances in the Hindi film industry. In fact, comedian Johnny Lever has credited Dinesh Hingoo for giving him an early stage opportunity.
On the personal front. he is married to Jamuna Hingoo, who is a former Gujarati stage actress. According to the reports, he married against his family’s wishes. The couple has two sons, Rajiv and Jignesh Hingoo.
