IPL Points Table 2026 Updated After MI vs CSK: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) jumped to the fifth position in the IPL 2026 points table after defeating Mumbai Indians (MI) by 103 runs at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday, April 23. Batting first, CSK posted 207/6 in 20 overs.
Sanju Samson struck his second hundred of the IPL 2026, but other batters failed to play big knocks. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad (22) and Dewald Brevis (21) got good starts but failed to convert them into big innings. Shivam Dube’s poor run continued, and he managed to score only five runs.
Jamie Overton played a handy cameo and scored 15 runs off 7 balls. But it was Sanju Samson’s blistering innings that helped CSK to set a 208-run target. He smashed an unbeaten 101 runs off 54 balls, hitting 10 boundaries and six maximums. For MI, AM Ghazanfar and Ashwani Kumar took two wickets each.
In reply, the hosts got off to a disappointing start as both their openers fell early. They were reduced to 29/3 in six overs with Akeal Hossein taking two wickets, and Mukesh Choudhary picking up one.
Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma stitched a 73-run partnership for the fourth wicket, but once that stand was broken, wickets kept falling at regular intervals as MI suffered a 103-run defeat, their biggest in IPL history. Akeal Hosein picked up four wickets, and Noor Ahmad also took two.
