New Delhi: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fast bowler Mukesh Choudhary paid a heartfelt tribute to his late mother after dismissing Quinton de Kock for 7 runs in the IPL 2026 clash against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday, April 23.
Mukesh lost his mother following a year-long illness and had travelled back to his hometown in Bhilwara (Rajasthan) after CSK’s match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Saturday. After performing the final rites, he rejoined the team ahead of their clash against MI and made an immediate impact with the ball.
Chasing a 208-run target, MI got off to a horrific start as Akeal Hossein removed Danish Malewar for a duck in the first over, and Mukesh Choudhary dismissed Quinton de Kock for 7 runs in the next over.
He bowled a good length delivery, and the MI opener tried to play a drive, but got the inside edge of the bat, and the ball crashed into the stumps. After removing de Kock, he gestured towards the sky, seemingly dedicating the wicket to his late mother.
Timber strikes and joy in the @ChennaiIPL camp 🥳
Just the powerplay they wanted with the ball 💛#MI 30/3 after 7 overs.
