Mumbai: Akshay Kumar’s ‘Bhooth Bangla’ continues its steady run at the box office, crossing the Rs 75 crore mark during the midweek.

Despite the usual weekday dip, the Priyadarshan directorial has managed to hold its ground, maintaining consistent collections and showing strong audience interest.

As per Sacnilk, the film, which released on Friday with paid previews on Thursday, earned ₹3.20 crore net in India on Wednesday (till 7 PM), taking its total to ₹75.95 crore.

It collected ₹6.75 crore on Monday and saw a rise on Tuesday with ₹8 crore.

The film made ₹3.75 crore from previews and ₹12.25 crore on its opening day. Over the weekend, it earned ₹19 crore on Saturday and ₹23 crore on Sunday.

Despite the usual drop on Monday, the film has stayed steady during the weekdays and continues to do well.

The film also brings back Tabu with Priyadarshan and Akshay after their hit film ‘Hera Pheri ‘(2000).
Talking about their reunion, Akshay said, “This was the right film for both of us. We couldn’t get the film till now because she was busy in her place, I was busy in my place, and Priyan sir was busy somewhere else. So, now you have got a chance. But now I will request Tabu ji and Priyan sir that you won’t have this complaint.”

Apart from Akshay and Tabu, the film also features Paresh Rawal, Jisshu Sengupta, Rajpal Yadav, Mithila Palkar and Wamiqa Gabbi.

Rohan Shankar, who worked on the screenplay and dialogues of ‘Bhooth Bangla’, told HT, “Comparisons with Bhool Bhulaiyaa are inevitable, but the story, tonality, scale, and overall world of Bhoot Bangla are very different. The experience is much larger than just scares and laughs. Once the audience watches it, I hope they’ll understand the scale and the emotional core we’re aiming for.”
