Krem Chympe, nestled in the East Jaintia Hills of Meghalaya, is a hidden gem that welcomes tourists with its thrilling cave explorations, secluded waterfalls and thickly-clustered emerald-green forests. No-plastic policy in Meghalaya’s Krem Chympe

Local vendors at Krem Chympe serve piping hot tea or warm Maggi noodles not in cups or bowls, but in bamboo vessels. This tradition extends to the nearby villages as well, where the people showcase remarkable climate consciousness through this sustainable way of serving food and beverages in naturally crafted bamboo vessels.

Krem Chympe is also home to India’s fifth-longest cave, where the dark passageways wind into underground rivers and dramatic limestone formations. Inside these caves, you can spot bats, fish, stalactites, stalagmites, and massive chambers. While the first section is accessible to general tourists, deeper exploration requires professional gear and guides.
