The Railway Ministry has given the green signal to the plan to run the much awaited Vande Bharat Sleeper train on the Bengaluru-Pune route. This train will not only reduce the travel time, but will also provide passengers a comfortable overnight travel experience with airplane-like amenities. Night travel with business class facilities. Currently, trains running between Bengaluru and Pune take a lot of time, but Vande Bharat Sleeper train will cover this distance in just 12 to 13 hours. The biggest feature of this train is its sleeper coaches, which have been specially designed for long distance travel. The train will have facilities like ergonomic cushioning, sensor-based lighting, noise-free cabin and modern bio-vacuum toilets. What will be the possible route and stoppages? Although the Railways has not yet released the official time table, but according to sources, this train will leave from KSR station of Bengaluru or Yesvantpur and reach Pune, stopping at major stations like Davangere, Hubli, Belagavi and Kolhapur. This route will prove to be a boon especially for professionals and students who frequently travel between these two cities. Equipped with ‘Kavach’ technology for safety, the Vande Bharat sleeper trains will also be unmatched in terms of safety. These trains will be fully equipped with indigenous safety system ‘KAVACH’, which is capable of preventing the collision between two trains. Apart from this, in case of fire in the train, automatic alarm, better fire fighting system and CCTV cameras will be installed in every coach, which will ensure the safety of passengers. When will the service start? According to senior railway officials, the prototype testing of Vande Bharat sleeper is in the final stage. It is expected that its operations will be started within the next few months. Talking about fare, this train will be of premium category, hence its fare may be equal to or slightly more than Rajdhani Express.
