Prince Harry and Meghan Markle spent last week in Australia as they carried out their own tour. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex carried out a number of engagements in Australia last week in what marked their first visit back Down Under since 2018 - a time when they were working royals.

While the tour appears to have received mixed feedback from the public, a Melbourne-based photographer who spent some time with them on their cultural tour with the Koorie Heritage Trust has shared what they were really like. In a post online, photographer Tiffany Garvie was full of praise for the couple, saying they were "so personable". She also praised the way in which they interacted with members of the public.

She wrote on Facebook: "I was invited to officially photograph The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meghan, on their cultural tour with the Koorie Heritage Trust. Whatever your thoughts on the British Royal Family, these two were the loveliest and so, so personable.

"They said yes to every photo with the general public and both stopped to play and spend time with every child who came across their path.

"I was really impressed with how Harry and Meghan already knew a number of First Nations community members by name and welcomed them with warm embraces.

"Thank you to the Koorie Heritage Trust for their trust in me to make these memories for them."

The photographer's comments will no doubt please the couple, who have received some backlash from the Australia tour.

An example of this is fact that a poll carried out by Roy Morgan - Australia's oldest and best-known independent polling and market research company founded in 1941 - showed that out of 1,767 Australians aged 18 and over, 81 percent did not find that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's visit to Australia improved their opinion of the couple.

The couple have also been criticised online for using their trip to Australia as a way to simply make more money to fund their Montecito lifestyle.

Harry and Meghan have not commented on the backlash they have received.
