In fact, Mahakal Sena has sent a letter to the Akhara Parishad asking whether the city puja to be held during Chaitra Navratri has any basis in the Vedas and scriptures or not. In the reminder letter sent by Mahakal Sena, it has been said that there is no mention of city worship on the Ashtami of Chaitra Navratri in any ancient religious text. In fact, the organization says that if any new tradition is started without any religious basis, it can create confusion among the devotees.

In fact, local Pandey-Priests have also raised questions in this matter and have said that activities to religious traditions should be done as per the scriptures. This entire controversy started when the discussion of organizing city puja on Ashtami of Chaitra Navratri came to the fore.

Mahakal Sena sent letter to Akhara Parishad

After this, Mahakal Sena has sent a letter to the Akhara Parishad expressing its objection on this. In fact, the organization says that they had raised questions on the same issue earlier also but no response was received then. According to Mahesh Pujari, patron of Mahakal Sena, traditionally Nagar Puja is organized on the Ashtami of Ashwin Navratri. Administration also participates in this event and it is done with prescribed rules and regulations. He says that there is no mention of such worship in Chaitra Navratri, so it is natural to raise questions about this new tradition.

The organization believes that before changing religious traditions or starting a new tradition, there should be an open discussion between the society and the religious leaders. If any event is organized without consent, it may create different opinions among the devotees. For this reason, a clear answer has been sought from the Akhara Parishad so that the situation can be clarified. In fact, Mahakal Sena chief Ram Sharma said that the President of Akhara Parishad is expected to give a clear opinion in this matter. He says that the council officials are considered to be knowledgeable about Sanatan traditions, hence the society is waiting for their answer. He also said that if the situation is not clear on this issue then the society will have to decide whether to accept such traditions or not.

However, when Sant Ravindra Puri Maharaj associated with Akhara Parishad was talked to in this matter, he said that this controversy is being created unnecessarily. According to him, some people are raising such questions just to get into the limelight.
