On April 20, his son Anand Bhosle and granddaughter Janai reached Varanasi and immersed his ashes in the holy Ganga with traditional rituals. Zanai Bhosle looked very emotional in the videos and pictures that surfaced during the immersion of ashes. Boarding the boat, Anand and Janai offered prayers and followed all the religious traditions.

Granddaughter paid emotional tribute on social media

A day before the ashes immersion, Janai shared some pictures with her grandmother. He wrote an emotional message, saying that Asha Bhosle taught him to live, but not to live without her. He also wrote that he misses her every moment and she will always be alive in his heart.

Asha Bhosle's funeral took place on 13 April in Mumbai. After the funeral, granddaughter Janai shared a video, in which she expressed her heartfelt feelings. She said that she has lost her best friend and the most important part of her life. She also wrote that now she becomes very emotional just thinking about whom she should hug and drink tea with when she wakes up in the morning.

Last rites were performed with state honors

Asha Bhosle's mortal remains were kept at her residence for homage. As a mark of respect his body was draped in the Indian tricolor and the police gave him state honours. People paid homage till afternoon at his house in Lower Parel, after which the funeral procession left for Shivaji Park Crematorium, Dadar. His last rites were performed at 4 pm. Let us tell you that Asha Bhosle died on the morning of 12th April due to multi-organ failure. He was admitted to the hospital due to chest infection and weakness.
