The police administration has started preparations for the visit of Indian President Draupadi Murmu to Shimla. There will be police vigil at every nook and corner of the capital Shimla regarding the visit of President Draupadi Murmu. Around 1500 police personnel will be deployed in Shimla for the President's visit. Apart from this, Shimla city will be divided into six different sectors for the President's visit. Shimla Police is preparing a traffic plan to ensure that the general public does not face any problem during the VIP movement. President Draupadi Murmu will attend RTrak program on 30th April. She can stay in Shimla from 27th April to May. A tentative program has arrived from Rashtrapati Bhavan, Delhi and accordingly the state government has started preparations. DIG Anjum Ara along with police officers took stock of the preparations for the visit of President Draupadi Murmu. At the same time, the district administration has given guidelines to the concerned departments regarding preparations. The visit of the President of the country to Shimla every summer is not only a formal visit but also a continuation of a historical tradition. The roots of this tradition go back to the British era, when Shimla was made the summer capital of India and the entire administration was shifted here in the summer. Even today, partially continuing this legacy, the President visits The Retreat, her official residence in Shimla, for a few days' stay. According to the tentative schedule, the President will reach Shimla from Delhi via Chandigarh on April 27. On April 28 she will attend an inauguration ceremony, on April 29 she will visit Atal Tunnel Rohtang and hold a meeting with BRO officials, on April 30 she will attend the convocation of Agricultural University Palampur, on May 1 there will be an at home program in Shimla and on May 2 the President will return to Delhi.
