There's a direct train from London to a secluded spot in Scotlandthat's literally in the middle of nowhere. The UK's most remote train station is 10 miles from the nearest road.

Corrour station, tucked away in the Western Scottish Highlands and a ten-mile trek from the closest road, has a direct link to LondonEuston. It is the highest mainline railway station in the UK at an elevation of 1,340 feet (410 m) above sea level. It is located between Rannoch and Tulloch, 71 miles from Craigendoran Junction, near Helensburgh. ScotRail manages the station and provides most services, along with Caledonian Sleeper. The journey takes between 11 and 12 hours on the Caledonian Sleeper train, which, pre-pandemic, would carry between 12,000 and 14,000 passengers annually from Corrour to London.

The annual footfall at Corrour, 14,108 in 2023, equals what London Waterloo station sees in just one hour.

It boasts the UK's most remote restaurant, housed in the former station building. All supplies are sourced from the surrounding wilderness and transported via off-road vehicles.

The Corrour Station House, a cosy restaurant tucked away in the Western Scottish Highlands, is pulling in punters from far and wide, making Corrour one of the busiest stops on the rural West Highland railway line between Glasgow and Mallaig via Fort William.

The Highlands station is enveloped by breathtaking natural beauty, with the nearby Loch Coir and Loch Ossian providing awe-inspiring vistas.

The pristine landscape and isolation of the area draw in tourists who lodge at holiday homes dotted around the two lakes. There is a number of walks that visitors can enjoy.

Despite its secluded location, the area isn't entirely isolated - there's a phone box equipped with an Internet connection near the station.
