Raipur . The heat in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh has broken all records of this year. On Saturday, the maximum temperature of Rajnandgaon was recorded at 45 degrees Celsius, making this district the hottest in entire Chhattisgarh. In Raipur and other districts of Durg division, the mercury remains around 42-44 degrees. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of severe heat wave for the next 3 to 4 days. There is a possibility of further increase in temperature due to dry winds.
Heat wave alert has been issued due to extreme heat in Chhattisgarh. Heat like conditions prevail in Raipur, Durg, Bilaspur and Rajnandgaon. Even today, there is a possibility of heat wave at one or two places. Instructions have been given to exercise special caution in Raipur, Bilaspur and Durg divisions of the state.
Since morning, strong sunlight and scorching winds are making life difficult for people. Silence on the streets and people confined to their homes, the effect of heat is clearly visible everywhere. In the last 24 hours, the highest temperature of 45 degrees Celsius was recorded in Rajnandgaon. The temperature in the capital Raipur can reach 44 degrees today. There is a possibility of hot winds blowing in the state even at night, due to which there is little hope of getting relief to the people.
According to the Meteorological Department, the trough extending from North India to the state, the cyclonic system formed near Odisha and the anti-cyclone active in the Maharashtra-Telangana region are continuously increasing the hot winds. Due to this, there is lack of moisture in the air and even without humidity, the heat has become more piercing. At present there is no hope of people getting relief. The temperature may remain high for the next two days, due to which the heat may cause more trouble.
The situation is very serious in the capital Raipur. The day temperature here remains around 43 degrees Celsius, while there is no respite from the heat even at night. The sun is so strong throughout the day that it has become difficult to go out and hot winds keep blowing till evening.
Health experts have appealed to people to be cautious. It has been advised to avoid going out in the afternoon, drink plenty of water, wear light and loose clothes and take special care of children and the elderly.
