Patna. Big steps are being taken towards strengthening the education system in Bihar. The government and administration have started work rapidly to start the proposed 19 new Kendriya Vidyalayas in the state soon. Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit has given clear instructions to all concerned departments and district administration that any kind of delay will not be tolerated.


Land decided, but formalities still pending


According to the report of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Patna, land has been identified for schools in most of the districts. But at many places the work is stalled due to lack of no objection certificate and departmental approval. In Bhagalpur, permission from the health department is pending, while in Kaimur, Jhanjharpur and Munger, approval from the agriculture department is awaited. At some other places also the approval process from various departments is incomplete.


Work is progressing rapidly in many districts


In districts like Gaya (Bodhgaya), Katihar and Darbhanga of Bihar, land has been finalized and the process is progressing. Whereas the work of land transfer is going on in Madhepura. Identification of alternative land in Shekhpura, Sitamarhi and Nalanda has also been completed.


Encroachment poses a challenge at some places


Land is available in districts like Bhojpur and Purnia, but work is being hampered due to encroachment and lack of basic facilities like roads. The administration has been instructed to solve these problems first.


Strict instructions issued to these districts


The Chief Secretary has directed all the departments to issue the pending no objection certificates soon. Besides, District Magistrates have been asked to remove encroachments, build access roads and speed up the process of land transfer. The government plans to start studies in new schools soon. For this, government schools, colleges and other buildings are being prepared temporarily in many districts.
