Akshay Kumar took a trip down memory lane as he recalled earning a whopping Rs. 8–9 lakh in the past.

The Welcome actor, currently basking in the success of his latest film Bhooth Bangla, drew striking parallels between current rates and per-day payments from the time when films like Jaani Dushman: A Unique Story were made.

In an exclusive interview with Shubhankar Mishra, Akshay spoke at length about earning a good amount of money during that time.

Referring to the 2002 film, the Khiladi star noted, “Back then, I used to earn a pretty good amount; I would make around Rs. 8 to Rs. 9 lakh per day.”

For the unversed, Jaani Dushman: A Unique Story starred Sunny Deol, Sonu Nigam, Suniel Shetty, Aftab Shivdasani, Arshad Warsi, Aditya Pancholi, Rambha, Sharad Kapoor, Manisha Koirala, and Armaan Kohli in key roles.

On  professional front, the actor recently reunited with director Priyadarshan after a hiatus of 16 years.

The film, featuring Paresh Rawal, Wamiqa Gabbi, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav, and Asrani, has managed to impress audiences worldwide, with a box office collection of Rs. 42 crore so far.
