Tezzbuzz Desk – Messaging app WhatsApp is preparing to bring a big privacy update for its users, which can completely change the way of chatting. Under this new feature, messages will not only be sent but will automatically disappear after being read. This means that users are going to get more control over their messages than before.

According to reports, the company is working on a new option called “After Reading”. Till now, the timer in the Disappearing Message feature starts as soon as the message is sent, but in the new update the timer will be active only when the other user opens the message. This means that if the receiver reads the message late, it will still be present in the chat and will be automatically deleted within the stipulated time after reading.

Information about this feature has come to light from the report of WABetaInfo, which states that it has been spotted in beta version 2.26.15.11 of Android. This version is currently available for beta users on Google Play Store, which clearly shows that the feature is still in the development stage.

With the new update, users can also get more flexible timing options. According to the report, options like 5 minutes, 1 hour and 12 hours can be given. For example, if you set a timer for 5 minutes, the message will automatically disappear after 5 minutes of being read. With this, users will be able to decide for how long their message remains visible.

This feature can prove especially useful for those who share OTP, personal details or other sensitive information. Under the new system, users will have two options—a traditional disappearing message, in which the timer starts as soon as it is sent, and the second “after reading” feature, in which the timer starts after reading.
