Delhi Weather Update: It rained with thunderstorm in Delhi-NCR on Friday. This provided relief from the heat in the capital. Due to rain, problems of waterlogging and traffic jams were also seen at many places. The Meteorological Department has issued weather updates in many areas including Delhi-NCR.


There was relief from the heat due to rain on Friday, but the temperature is expected to rise in the next two-three days. The Meteorological Department said that during this period the maximum temperature can go up to 41-42 degrees Celsius. This can also lead to heatstroke. On the weather of Friday and Saturday, the Meteorological Department said that the sky will be light cloudy and there is a possibility of wind. This can provide relief from heat.

AQI 226 was recorded in the capital Delhi on 16 April. As pollution levels increased in Delhi, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) had implemented GRAP Stage-1 in the capital region. Open burning of garbage, leaves and other things was banned. Also, a ban was imposed on construction work in the city. Apart from this, emphasis was also laid on cleanliness and water sprinkling, so that the pollution level could be improved.


Heatwave warning issued


Giving information on weather updates of other parts of the country, the department said that extreme heat is going to increase in the north-western parts of India. There may be a slight drop in temperature due to thunderstorms in Rajasthan, but there is every possibility of heat increasing in the next few days. During this period, the effect of heat wave may intensify in western Rajasthan. Due to this, the temperature is likely to remain above normal throughout the week.



Talking about other parts of the country, according to the department, there is a possibility of hot and humid weather throughout the week on the western-eastern coasts. Meanwhile, heatwave warning has been issued in other states like Odisha, Jharkhand, Marathwada, Madhya Maharashtra, Rayalaseema, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh from April 17-21.

According to the department, there is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder and lightning in some parts of states like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal and Sikkim between April 18-21.
