A big change is being seen in Chhattisgarh regarding Census 2027. This time people have been given a chance to fill their information themselves. This is being called “self-counting”, which has started from April 16, 2026. The government says that this will make the census process easier and more transparent than before. Also, correct information of people can be entered directly by them.

Chief Secretary himself did self-calculation

State Chief Secretary Shri Vikassheel himself started this process by registering his information on the portal at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan in Raipur. During this, many officials including Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Shri Manoj Kumar Pingua and Census Director Shri Karthikeya Goyal were present. This step is also considered important to motivate people, so that more and more citizens use this facility.

When can you fill the information?

The state government has given time to the citizens from April 16 to April 30, 2026. During this period, any person can enter his/her own information through the online portal. For this, the form can be filled easily by visiting se.census.gov.in portal.

what will happen after this

After the self-enumeration process is over, the census team will go door-to-door to collect information from May 1 to May 30, 2026. Enumerators will go to every house and record information related to the house, facilities and basic details of the family. Those who have already done the self-enumeration need only provide their SE ID to the enumerator. The Chief Secretary has described this as a big step towards making the census easy, transparent and reliable. This will give people an opportunity to give their correct information and the possibility of errors in the data will also be reduced.

What will happen if you cannot calculate yourself?

If a person is not able to fill the information online, there is no need to worry. Between May 1 and May 30, the government team will personally come to your home and record all the information. The government has appealed to all citizens to make maximum use of this facility and play their part in the development of the country.
