PGI Chandigarh; The Advanced Neuroscience Center (ANC) at PGI, Chandigarh is all set to start functioning on April 20. As a result, all neurology and neurosurgery services currently being provided in the new OPD complex will be discontinued from tomorrow to Saturday afternoon. All neurology diagnostic facilities like CT scan, MRI, and blood tests will now be available within this new building. The facility will have approximately 300 beds for neurology and neurosurgery patients. This building has been constructed at a cost of around ₹500 crore.
No change in OPD schedule
There will be no change in OPD timings and schedule. Neurology OPD will function on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. On Thursday, a special clinic will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Neurosurgery OPD will continue to function on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. General OPD hours will be from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. Patients and their attendants can access the Advanced Neuroscience Center through Gate No. 3 of PGIMER, Chandigarh. Necessary arrangements have been made to guide tourists and ensure smooth transition.
A six storied building with three basements
Spread over an area of 47,619 square meters, the six-storey building has three basement levels, two of which are designated for parking and can accommodate up to 232 cars. The top floor will house 10 modular operation theaters and a minor OT, which will facilitate complex procedures like cerebrovascular surgery, skull base surgery, spinal surgery, and functional neurosurgery.
