Kangana Ranaut podcast: Actor and politician Kangana Ranaut has spoken candidly about one of the most controversial phases of her personal life. The Tanu Weds Manu star recalled how she faced intense public scrutiny and bizarre accusations during her past relationship dispute with actor Adhyayan Suman.

During a recent appearance on the ANI podcast, Kangana revisited the episode that dominated entertainment headlines nearly a decade ago. The 40-year-old actor said the allegations and subsequent public reactions turned into what she described as a “witch hunt”.

Reflecting on the period, Kangana Ranaut revealed that the situation escalated far beyond a typical celebrity breakup. She claimed that some voices within the industry and media began spreading rumours that portrayed her in an extremely negative light.

“My ex who filed a case on me… and on top of that, kuch khade ho gaye ki ye to chudail hai. khoon peeti hai. Kaale kamre mein kaale parde lagake kaala jaadu karti hai (some people stood up and said she’s a witch, she drinks blood, she does black magic.) So there was a witch-hunting,” she said.

For those who do not know, Kangana and Adhayan had briefly dated around 2008–09 after working together in the film Raaz: The Mystery Continues. However, the controversy resurfaced years later when Adhayan publicly accused her of emotional and physical abuse and alleged involvement in black magic practices.

Kangana Ranaut even recalled how overwhelming the backlash felt during that phase of her life. She pointed out, “There was evident and very apparent witch-hunting happening at that time, and I was hardly 26 or 27 years old. So when this is how they’re going to treat me, why should I make them look good…I have no reason to make them look good.”

The BJP MP from Mandi added that navigating the situation required resilience and emotional strength. “I was just doing the best I could do to weather that storm,” she said.

Over the years, Kangana Ranaut has continued to build a career defined by strong performances and outspoken public positions. She made her debut with Gangster and went on to deliver acclaimed roles in films such as Fashion, Queen and Tanu Weds Manu Returns.
