The scorching heat wave is going to start once again in Delhi-NCR. According to the latest forecast of India Metrological Department (IMD), the sky will remain clear throughout the week and the temperature will continue to rise.

According to the data, by Thursday (April 16 to April 20), the maximum temperature is likely to increase from 36 degrees to 39 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature may also increase from 21 to 23 degrees Celsius. There is also a possibility that the mercury will reach close to 40 degrees in the coming days.

Today’s weather in Delhi-NCR is going to be dry and clear. You will feel strong sunlight since morning. The temperature at 6 am is around 23 degrees. There is no chance of rain at all in Delhi NCR at present. There will be 34 percent humidity in the weather. Also, winds will blow at a speed of 3 kilometers per hour.

According to the Meteorological Department, on Thursday i.e. today, April 16, the maximum temperature is expected to be 39 degrees and the minimum will be 23 degrees. The maximum temperature will reach 37 degrees on Friday (April 17). It is likely to reach 38 degrees on Saturday, April 18 and 39 degrees by April 19-20.

There will be clear sky throughout the week, due to which the sunshine will be brighter and the effect of heat will be felt more. Not only heat, but air pollution is also becoming a matter of concern. According to AQI data, the air quality in many areas of NCR has gone from poor to very poor category.

AQI was recorded at 294 in Delhi’s Anand Vihar, 274 in Alipore, 236 in Bawana and 230 on Mathura Road. At the same time, some areas like Ashok Vihar recorded 202 AQI and Chandni Chowk 168, which falls in the ‘moderate to poor’ category. The situation looks more serious in Greater Noida and Ghaziabad.

The AQI in Greater Noida’s Knowledge Park-3 was recorded at 221, while in Knowledge Park-5 it reached 334, which falls in the ‘severe’ category. AQI 316 has been recorded in Loni area of Ghaziabad and 320 in Ved Vihar-Loni. Apart from this, 238 AQI was recorded in Indirapuram, 214 in Vasundhara and 181 in Sanjay Nagar.

Experts say that due to increasing heat and stagnant weather (less wind), pollutant particles accumulate in the atmosphere, increasing AQI levels. In this situation, the elderly, children and respiratory patients have been advised to take special precautions.

According to health experts, people should avoid going out during the afternoon, drink enough water and use masks. In the coming days, people of NCR may have to face the double blow of both heat and pollution.
