Tezzbuzz Desk- In the 23rd match of IPL 2026, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) registered a spectacular victory by defeating Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in a one-sided fashion. In this match played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, RCB showed dominance in every department. First the bowlers did wonders and then the batsmen achieved the target easily.

Captain Rajat Patidar’s decision to bowl first after winning the toss proved to be completely right. Lucknow team was reduced to only 146 runs in 20 overs. The team had a bad start, where Aiden Markram was out after scoring just 12 runs. After this, captain Rishabh Pant retired due to injury and even after his return could score only 1 run. Ayush Badoni (38 runs) and Mukul Chaudhary (39 runs) showed some fight in the middle order, but the team could not reach a big score.

RCB’s bowling was very impressive. Rasikh Dar changed the course of the match by taking 4 wickets, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 3 wickets. Krunal Pandya got 2 wickets and Josh Hazlewood also bowled economically and took 1 wicket. RCB, chasing the target of 147 runs, adopted an aggressive approach from the beginning. Virat Kohli, who came as an impact player, put the team in a strong position by scoring 49 runs in 34 balls. He played an important partnership with Devdutt Padikkal.

After this, captain Rajat Patidar played a quick inning of 27 runs in 13 balls, while Jitesh Sharma made the match easier by scoring 23 runs in 9 balls. In the end, Tim David and Romario Shepherd led the team to victory.

RCB won this match by losing 5 wickets in 15.1 overs and the special thing was that they defeated Lucknow Super Giants for the first time on their home ground.
