New Delhi: Chennai Super Kings added to Kolkata Knight Riders’ winless agony in IPL 2026 with a 32-run victory in a clash between former champions on Tuesday.

CSK posted 192 for five after they were asked to bat first after which KKR lost top order wickets cheaply and kept too much to do towards the end to be restricted to 160 for seven.

KKR spinners Sunil Narine (1/21 in 4 overs), Anukul (1/21 in 3 overs) and seamer Kartik Tyagi (2/35 in 4 overs) prevented CSK from crossing the 200-run mark.

But their batters once again faltered in a chase that was gettable at the Chepauk stadium to keep them winless after five matches that includes four losses.

Noor Ahmed’s left-arim spin fetched 3/21 while seamer Anshul Kamboj chipped in with 2/32 in a probing bowling effort from CSK.

KKR remained at the foot of the 10-team standings with a point while CSK rose a spot to eighth with their second successive win in five matches.

Three-time champions KKR needed meaningful contributions from their top order batters like Sanju Samson (48 off 32 balls), Ayush Mhatre (38 off 17 balls) and Dewald Brevis (41 off 29 balls) did for CSK.

But Finn Allen (1), Narine (24), Ajinkya Rahane (28) and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (27) could neither stay for long or score at a brisk rate.

KKR’s middle order batters Rinku Singh (6) and Cameron Green (0) also failed as they slumped to 90 for six in 12.5 overs.

Rovman Powell (31 not out) and Ramandeep Singh (35) fought a losing battle but it seemed they had too mch ground to cover as CSK bowlers controlled the big shots to ensure victory for the five-time champions.
