India Data Center Market: India is rapidly strengthening its hold in the digital world and its direct impact is clearly visible on the data center industry. According to the report, the country’s data center market may grow from around $10 billion by 2025 to $22 billion by 2030.

Confidence of foreign investment, India becomes favorite market

According to Vestian’s report, there is an investment of $ 13 to 15 billion in India’s data center sector between 2020 and 2024. About 80 percent of this is owned by foreign investors, which shows strong confidence in this sector.

New investments worth $60 to 70 billion have been announced in the coming five years. From this it has become clear that big global operators and companies want to expand in India. This investment will not be limited to infrastructure only, but will also create new opportunities in technology and employment.

India will become global data hub

Currently, the operational capacity of data centers in India ranges between 1.4 to 1.6 GW, spread across 164 facilities. Apart from this, more than 700 MW capacity is under construction and plans for 1 to 1.2 GW are ready.

It is estimated that this capacity will reach 2 GW by 2026 and 4 to 5 GW by 2030. This rapidly increasing capacity shows that India is going to become a big center of data storage and processing in the coming times.

AI, cloud and 5G increased demand

The number of internet users in India is increasing rapidly, due to which data consumption has reached record levels. An average user is using more than 25 GB of data every month. The expansion of AI, high performance computing, digital payments, OTT platforms and 5G services has further accelerated the demand for data. Due to all these reasons, companies are needing to build larger and advanced data centers.
