Match 19 of the Indian Premier League 2026 was played at Lucknow between Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans. Gujarat Titans emerged victorious in the end winning the match by 7 wickets chasing the target comfortably. Gujarat Titans with 11 for 2 managed a well balanced performance with the bat and ball while Lucknow Super Giants could not muster enough momentum even after reaching a good total.

 

LSG Tails' Late Blitz Took the Host to 164-8

 

Batting first in blustery conditions on a decent pitch, LSG managed to score 164/8 in their 20 overs. Aiden Markram, who looked assured against the swinging ball, scored a decent 30, and the skipper Rishabh Pant, and Nicholas Pooran got starts but failed to kick on. With a little bit of late order hitting from George Linde and Mohammed Shami, LSG managed to get to a reasonable total.

 

However, the best performance of the Gujarat Titans' bowling came under the lights. Prasidh Krishna set it up beautifully with 4 wickets and decimating the LSG batting order. He was very well supported in the middle overs by Mohammed Siraj and Ashok Sharma as they were quite stingy in their line and length.

Buttler-Gill Ensured GT's Second Win of the Season

 

Chasing 165, Gujarat Titans exhibited tremendous composure and control in their innings. Skipper Shubman Gill set the platform with a masterclass 56. Jos Buttler played a phenomenal knock of 60 while attacking bowlers throughout the course, putting the LSG under immense pressure.

 

After a formidable start to the chase, Gujarat Titans maintained their dominance. Even with losing two quick wickets there was no signs of panic at all and the task was neatly executed by Washington Sundar and Rahul Tewatia who comfortably guided the team to a victory with 7 wickets remaining with 18.4 overs up.

 

It was indeed a complete performance from the Gujarat Titans with disciplined bowling by Prasidh Krishna (POTM) and seamless chase of batting guided by the brilliant Gill and Buttler.
