A Countryfile guest was left stunned as presenter John Craven delivered a heartwarming surprise during the latest episode of the BBC show.
During the Sunday's (April 12) installment, veteran presenter John and co-host Charlotte Smith headed to the National Forest in the Midlands as it reached a milestone moment, the planting of its 10-millionth tree.
The stars met with the people who take care of the woodlands and explored how their lives have been reshaped by the breathtaking forest.
During one interview, John reunited with a former guest who had shared their dream of planting 30 million trees in the National Forest, and the reunion surprised them.
Former head of the National Forest, Susan Bell, was elated to see John following their interview back in 1992 and expressed how much the landscape had "changed" over the past decades.
"But this site was always spectacular and lovely, and it's wonderful to see it in full bloom", Susan excitedly added. "And the interesting thing is that when we first started, people would say, 'If only this would happen in our lifetime', and here it is."
John then shared a throwback moment with Susan from their first meeting at the forest. He said: "Well, Susan, I've got a surprise for you. I've got a clip from that day 30 years ago when you and I talked about planting new trees in the forest".
With a shocked expression, Susan gasped, "Ohh", before adding, "How wonderful to see", as they both looked down to see the clip on John's tablet.
In the video footage, a fresh-faced John planted the very first oak tree in the area, and he shared ambitions for a "quite a sizable woodland."
In the clip, Susan also expressed hopes of planting enough trees to cover 200 square miles, or the size of "The Isle of Wight", and confirmed plans to plant millions of new trees.
"30 million was perhaps a bit of an overestimate", Susan joked as she was delighted to watch the footage.
"We had to convince politicians, obviously, because we were going to need money to back it. Landowners themselves were cautious."
She proudly added, "I'm loving it. I'm loving it. Just coming here today, I got lost, and I thought 'that's exactly what we wanted'."
