News India Live, Digital Desk: The coming Monday is going to be very decisive for lakhs of central government employees and pensioners. The long wait regarding the formation of the 8th Pay Commission and the fitment factor now seems to be over. According to sources, a high-profile meeting has been called on Monday, in which major decisions can be taken regarding increase in salary of employees and new salary structure. As soon as this news came out, there has been a stir in the government departments and the expectations of the employees are sky high. Everyone’s eyes are on the fitment factor. The main agenda of this meeting is said to be ‘Fitment Factor’. At present the employees are getting salary on the basis of Rs 2.57, which has been demanded for a long time to be increased to Rs 3.68. If the government accepts this demand, then there will be a huge increase in the minimum salary of central employees. Experts believe that this is the first major review meeting to be held after the budget, in which top officials of the Finance Ministry can participate. How much can your take-home salary increase? Amidst the possibility of implementation of the 8th Pay Commission, calculations have also started. It is believed that if the new pay commission moves forward as per the old recommendations, then an increase of 20 to 25 percent in the basic pay of the employees is possible. Along with this, discussions are also in full swing regarding the merger of Dearness Allowance (DA). If these technical aspects are agreed upon in Monday’s meeting, then it will be considered as the ‘return gift’ of the Modi government before the upcoming festivals. Good news can also come for pensioners. This meeting is important not only for the working employees but also for the lakhs of pensioners of the country. The issue of pension revision also figures prominently in the discussions of the 8th Pay Commission. Government employee organizations say that in view of rising inflation, formation of a new pay commission has now become mandatory. Although no official statement has been issued by the government yet, Monday’s stir will make many things clear.
