Asha Bhosle’s Legendary CareerAsha Bhosle’s journey in music started when she was just 10 years old. She recorded her first song for a Marathi film in the early 1940s and later moved to Hindi cinema. Her early years in Bollywood saw her working alongside established singers of the time, including her sister Lata Mangeshkar, Shamshad Begum, and Geeta Dutt. Over time, she carved her own space and went on to record more songs than most of her contemporaries.

At the same time, she proved her range with more classical and emotional music. Her work in films like Umrao Jaan earned her national recognition, including a National Award. She later received another award for her song in Ijaazat.
Over the years, Asha Bhosle recorded songs in many Indian languages, including Marathi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, and Punjabi. Her massive body of work earned her a place in the Guinness World Records for the highest number of studio recordings.
She was also honoured with some of India’s top awards, including the Dadasaheb Phalke Award and the Padma Vibhushan.
