A statement by National Working President of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Tejashwi Yadav has created an uproar in the politics of Bihar. He has claimed that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has been forced to resign due to pressure from his close ones, he just wanted to take over the power of Bihar. He has claimed that Janata Dal United (JDU) President Nitish Kumar is leaving the post of Chief Minister of Bihar under ‘pressure’ from his own party colleagues.

Tejashwi Yadav has claimed that leaders close to Nitish Kumar have been lured by BJP leaders. Nitish Kumar has now reached Rajya Sabha. He has also taken oath as Rajya Sabha MP. Now Nitish Kumar’s belongings are being sent to the government bungalow located in a nearby street from the Chief Minister’s residence.

What did Tejashwi remind you about Delhi?

Tejashwi Yadav said, ‘Remember the scene of Delhi. The way JDU working president Sanjay Jha stopped him from talking to the media in the national capital is proof of how much insult and pressure the JDU chief is facing.

Now what will be the future of Nitish and his party?

Nitish Kumar has not been able to produce any other leader of his stature in JDU. His son Nishant Kumar has taken membership of the party but he does not have any important role in the party. Earlier it was being claimed that he has been offered the post of Deputy CM but this has not been confirmed yet. Nitish Kumar remains the national president of the party but the role of Nishant Kumar is still unclear.

Nitish Kumar going to Rajya Sabha is a big change in the politics of Bihar and JDU. After his withdrawal from active state politics, the existence of JDU may be in jeopardy. BJP’s support base has increased rapidly in the state, JDU currently does not have a leader like Nitish Kumar, who has public acceptance. For decades, the party rested only on his ‘good governance’ image. Now, how the party handles this remains to be seen. The opposition is claiming a split in the party.
