Asha Bhosle suffers a cardiac arrest

Granddaughter Zanai Bhosle took to social media as she shared an update on her X handle and said, “My grandmother, Asha Bhosle, due to extreme exhaustion and suffering a chest infection, has been admitted to hospital and we request you to value our privacy. Treatment is ongoing and hopefully everything will be well and we shall update you positively."

As per reports doing round, the singer was unconscious when she was brought to the Breach Candy Hospital. She is currently in the ICU under medical supervision, and her health is being continuously monitored.

Fans continue to pray for her well being.

To date, the singer continues to be one of the most celebrated voices in Indian music. She started singing at the age of 10, back in 1943, and has a career spanning several decades now, and hence, she is also one of the most recorded artists in the world.

Over her journey spanning decades, she has lent her voice to thousands of songs across languages, including Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, and Marathi. She also has to her credit songs across genres, be it classical music to ghazals and pop, or even folk and cabaret, which has only added to her standing in the industry. Her music with composer RD Burman, in particular, has always been iconic, and continues to be remembered as some of the finest songs ever.

Some of the most unforgettable tracks she has sung include Dum Maro Dum, Piya Tu Ab To Aaja, and Chura Liya Hai Tumne. These songs have been timeless and will forever be remembered for the way they even bring out on-screen performances.

With a career that established, the legendary singer has always been awarded multiple prestigious awards, including the Padma Vibhushan and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, to recognise and revere her contribution to Indian music. With a rich legacy like hers, she has been an inspiration to some of the biggest singers we've had, and continues to do so.
