Matt Tebbutt interrupted his Saturday Kitchen Live show to share details of a nasty injury that he suffered just before the programme began. The presenter and chef explained that he had burnt himself in rehearsals as he shared concerns of the injury causing his appearance to change.

Speaking to his guests, he said: "So I burnt my lips in rehearsal," as he pointed to his mouth sparking an outburst of laughter from those in the studio. He asked: "Do I look like I've got fillers?" as he pouted. He was reassured as the guest replied: "Well... It doesn't look too bad at the moment. But it is going to hurt later." Matt joked: "So, shall I not talk?" One of the show visitors replied: "I don't think you can get away with that," before bursting out laughing again. Concerned about his looks again, Matt then repeated: "Is it like I've got fillers? Do I look like I've been to the dentist?"

Earlier this month, Matt was forced to recall the time he got fired as BBC The One Show host Angellica Bell playfully quizzed the chef on the awkward moment.

The television food presenter, 52, appeared on the show to talk about his latest career move as he is set to launch a brand-new podcast, exploring the stories behind celebrities' supermarket staples.

Before diving into his new project, Angellica was keen to find out how Matt got into cooking as she said: "Marco Pierre White, he gave you your big break when you started out. What was that like?"

Matt explained: "It was a lot, let's be honest. He was a bit of a legend or he still is a legend in the whole food industry. I think these kinds of mentors you need when you're starting out, you need those people to look up to and aspire to and Marco was certainly one of those."

He continued: "So I went to work for him and learnt a lot. It was a fun time and it was full on time. shall we say..." Before he could finish his sentence, Angelica pointed out: "You worked for him twice, was it twice?"

Matt said: "No, that was Alastair. That's another chef, the great Alastair Little - Italian chef." The chef then revealed: "Well I worked for him twice because I got sacked."

Sharing further detail, he then explained: "I started in this three star, which is the pinnacle of Michelin cooking.

"I was straight out of catering school and I really didn't know what I was going into and wow what a shock that was. So he sacked me after a month and then I went home and the next day, I was going 'oh, my word, I need a job. I need to find some work'.

"Then the phone went and it was Marco going, 'why are you at home?' I went, 'Well, because you sacked me last night' and he said 'oh, don't worry about that'.

"Then I went back and I worked at one of his other restaurants, the criterion, which was really busy. But it was fun. It was busy. It was often tough."
