South Molton might look like a quiet rural town at first glance, but step onto its high street and you quickly realise it is buzzing, a place where independent shops are thriving. Sitting on the edge of Exmoor, the town is known as a traditional market town with a long heritage of trade and craftsmanship. The town's market was even voted as "Britain's Favourite Market" in the 2026 Great British Market Awards.
The area has a population of around 5,000 people and its town square is a hive of activity.

One of the most notable landmarks in South Molton is St Mary Magdalene Church, which dates back to the 13th century.

South Molton is surrounded by beautiful countryside, and there are many opportunities for outdoor activities in the area. It is located on the edge of Exmoor National Park, which is a popular destination for hiking, cycling, and wildlife watching.
